EDOCNS CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.

The Provost of Edo State College of Nursing Sciences has encouraged students to find their places in the scheme of things.

The Provost who gave this encouragement on the occasion of the the 2024 International Women’s Day noted that women are being respected and nurses play a significant role in taking that role higher level, adding that statistics has shown that women excel in offices of management.

According to her, women are arriving and continue to strive to be the best version of ourselves and as such women should not be obstacles to themselves.

She said that the State Governor. Mr. Godwin Obaseki has given student nurses this wonderful platform this they should strive to make the best of it in order to exceed his expectations for the College.

Prof. Ukaigwe encouraged them to always comport themselves in the best way possible to reflect the ideals of the College as they are the cream of the crop and they should be intentional and purposeful in their dealings while always maintaining balance.

Special day is to honour womanhood. Must thrive to be the best that they can be.

The PDP gubernatorial Candidate Dr. Asue Ighodalo who described nurses as well sort after professional in the world advised all to be diligent in their dealings.

He further reiterated the fact that character is one virtue that should be guarded adding that students shouldn’t forget the values that have been imbibed in them by their tutors.

Dr. Asue harped on the need avoid shortcuts to success as many has been led astray by trying to save corners and that they should stay true to the good characters, and attitude that have been inculcated in them.

He further advised them to be competent in their work as this would make them excel in their chosen career and help to build an Edo State that will be ranked as the most prosperous state in Nigeria.

The International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. The theme of this year’s celebration is Inspiring Inclusion – Empowering Women in Public Service through Inclusive Leadership.
